Student Positions

GSLIS provides access to valuable resources through which students can find information regarding assistantships and hourly campus positions. These include:

• GSLIS Bulletin Boards, through which graduate students can search for assistantships and hourly positions related specifically to LIS within the University of Illinois;


• University Library Human Resources, through which graduate students can search for assistantships and hourly positions within the entire University of Illinois Library system (GSLIS students are given priority for these positions); and


• The Graduate College Assistantship Clearinghouse, through which graduate students can search for all assistantships and hourly positions within the University of Illinois.

Students also have opportunities to gain experience through alternative spring break, practicum, internships, and programs available through other campus units such as Illinois Business Consulting (IBC) and Illinois Leadership Center (ILC).
