Building a Tradition of Excellence

GSLIS has come a long way since its beginnings in 1893. As the first library school in the Midwest and a pioneer in online degree programs, we provide strong leadership in our discipline and educate outstanding information professionals.

GSLIS Brilliant Futures Campaign

Transforming the Future

GSLIS is an iSchool and a world leader in library and information science education, research, and practice. As information output increases at an exponential rate, GSLIS educates professionals who can help others manage information and connect with resources and technology to achieve their goals. The foundation laid by Katharine Sharp is a strong one that has been expanded and shaped to fit the needs of the future.

The Importance of Private Giving

GSLIS continues its strong tradition of academic excellence through partnerships with alumni that maintain and establish scholarships, fellowships, endowed chairs, professorships, faculty research, centers, and building spaces. The importance of private giving is critical to our success and number one national ranking.
